Welcome
SLD - Single Lens Direct-view - is an acronym to define a digital system camera that uses the streaming image sensor data to display a live view of the image that is about to be captured by the photographer.
The SLD Project is about designing, developing and creating a modular SLD that will grow with the needs and abilities of the user.
Beginners
If you are new to using a system camera, and you want to explore the possibilities of photography beyond those offered by your point-and-shoot or phone camera, you can configure a base Photowebs camera with an inexpensive 1" format sensor and a interchangeable 20 mm focal length (54 mm full-frame equivalent) lens.
Upgraders
Photowebs cameras are part of a modular system. Both available sensors inside this camera are swappable. You can upgrade to a new, more sophisticated sensor without having to discard the old one. If you already have two sensors and want to upgrade to a 3D system camera,
Professionals
A complete Photowebs modular system camera including four sensors in two base cameras, four prime lenses and a central post-processing unit, gives professional photographers and cinematographers nearly unlimited possibilities when shooting in 2D and 3D. All in one mobile unit that easily fits in a small day pack, without the need to carry a laptop.
